Itinerary: |
DAY 1: SEATTLE
Our Pacific Northwest adventure begins in Seatle!
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your
Hotel. (D)
DAY 2: SEATTLE-PORTLAND
Today we will begin by taking in the fabulous
views of Seattle and beautiful Puget Sound. We
will visit the world famous Space Needle,
Seattle’s space-age landmark which has crowned
the city skyline since the 1962 World’s Fair.
We’ll also tour the lively Pike Place Market and
historic Pioneer Square before heading south to
Oregon. Along the way, we will stop for a visit
to the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic
viewpoint. (B)
DAY 3: COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
After breakfast we will take a sightseeing tour
of Portland, the “City of Roses”. We will visit
delightful Washington Park and the famous
International Rose Test Gardens. This afternoon
we will experience the mighty Columbia River!
The excursion towards majestic Mount Hood takes
you along the Columbia River Gorge and includes
stops at the Bonneville Dam and Multnomah Falls,
the nation’s second highest year-round
waterfall. (B,D)
DAY 4: PORTLAND-GLENEDEN BEACH
Today we will leave Portland and head towards
the coast. We will stop in McMinnville and visit
the Evergreen Aviation Museum. On display is the
largest airplane ever built, Howard Hughes’
“flying boat,” the Spruce Goose. This after
noon, we will arrive at Gleneden Beach, along
the scenic Oregon Coast on 350 wooded acres.
Enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the
breathtaking scenery of the Oregon coastline. (B,D)
DAY 5: GLENEDEN BEACHGOLD BEACH
After breakfast, we will travel south along the
scenic coast to Newport for a visit to the
Oregon Coast Aquarium, which has four indoor
aquarium galleries showcasing coastal habitats
and the animals that live there. Seals, sea
lions and otters play in rocky pools, while
birds soar and dive in North America’s largest
walk-through sea bird aviary. We will travel
further south along the coastline, arriving at
colorful sea town of Gold Beach where the
landscape comprises a rainforest, the historic
Rogue River and the mighty Pacific. We will
arrive at your resort where you may relax and
watch the coastal sunset at the end of another
adventure filled day. (B)
DAY 6: GOLD BEACH-EUREKA
Before we leave Oregon, we will experience a
true adventure and the thrill of riding a jet
boat along the Rogue River through wild and
remote landscape. After crossing the border into
California, visit Redwood National Park. This
World Heritage Site is home to old coastal
redwoods, which are the world’s tallest trees.
This evening, explore the Victorian heritage
town of Eureka. (B,D)
DAY 7: EUREKA-MENDOCINO
Today we will travel from Eureka to Mendocino.
We will journey along a quiet two-lane highway
through the “Avenue of the Giants” where the
ancient redwoods tower over the spectacular
scenery. Then early in the afternoon we will
arrive in Mendocino. Mendocino Village is
situated on the Peninsula and surrounded on
three sides.
DAY 8: MENDOCINO
Today enjoy wine tasting and perhaps even take
home a bottle or two. The coastal breezes
combined with the warm days and fertile soil
produce world-renowned award winning wines. This
evening enjoy a farewell dinner held in your
honor. (B,D)
DAY 9: RETURN FLIGHT HOME
We will be transferred to the airport for our
return flight home.(B)
