DAY 1,2 & 3: USA - BEIJING
Today we begin our tour to the exciting lands of the
Far East as we fly to Beijing. We’ll lose a day as
we cross the International Date Line en route. You
will cruise among cultural and scenic treasures soon
to vanish with the completion of the Three Gorges
Dam. You’ll marvel at the Great Wall and reflect
upon the millions of men who built it; you’ll visit
the Summer Palace with all its splendor and behold
the army of 8000 terra cotta men. Numerous other
sights will leave you astounded. Our tour manager
will meet us at the airport and transfer us to our
luxury hotel, The New Otani. The remainder of the
day is yours to relax or to venture out into the
bustling area to do a bit of exploring. (Inflight
meals)
DAY 4: BEIJING
Our city tour of Beijing will include the
incomparable Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the
world’s largest square and the Summer Palace on Lake
Kunming. Returning to your hotel there will be some
time to relax before being treated to a Peking Duck
Dinner. (B,L,D)
DAY 5: BEIJING
Today we will experience The Great Wall, China’s
most magnificent sight. This 2000-year-old barrier
embodies the awesome power of this great land. The
Wall once stretched continuously for more than 6200
miles and is the only man-made structure visible
from outer space. Walking on this structure is like
stepping back into time. We’ll also visit the burial
place of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors. The Sacred road
is guarded by stone animals providing a proper
entrance to this area. This will be a day that is
long remembered. (B,L,D)
DAY 6: BEIJING - YANGTZE RIVER
After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for
our flight to Wuhan, the capital of the Hubei
Province. Wuhan is an important industrial and
commercial center in central China. Here we will
visit the Yellow Crane Tower and East Lake before
transferring to our cruise ship. We embark later in
the evening. (B,L,D)
DAY 7: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
The first shore excursion of our cruise is at
Yueyang. Here we will be introduced to its famous
tortoise-snake wine, paper folding fans, artistic
porcelain wares and silver needle tea. This setting
is dominated by a golden-roofed Tower built without
any cross beams or nails. It is spectacular.
Reboarding our ship we continue on toward Three
Gorges Dam. (B,L,D)
DAY 8: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
Today we’ll visit The Three Gorges Dam project, due
for completion a few years from now. It was
undertaken to control the devastating annual floods
along the river. When completed the dam will be 650
feet high and more than two miles across, creating a
reservoir some 400 miles long. Our morning shore
excursion takes us to visit this giant dam project.
Along the way you will see incredible scenery and
unbelievable sheer walls of stone. We will reboard
our ship and sail through Xiling Gorge and Wu Gorge
to arrive at Wushan. (B,L,D)
DAY 9: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
We disembark at Wushan to board a small motorized
sampan, which will provide access to the Lesser
Three Gorges. Sailing up the Daning River, we’ll
stop for lunch. Along the way you’ll see caves,
burial sites, fragments of the Ming Dynasty and the
beautiful towering cliffs. Back to our ship to
continue on our way through the spectacular Qutang
Gorge. (B,L,D)
DAY 10: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
The “City of Ghosts” is our side trip for today.
Legend has it that Fengdu is the gateway to hell. In
order to visit Fengdu we must travel by cable car as
it is located in the mountains. (B,L,D)
DAY 11: YANGTZE RIVER - XI’AN
Our arrival in Chongqing signals the end of our
Yangtze River adventure. We’ll head into town for a
brief tour of the area and an ethnic lunch before
flying to Xian where we will check into our hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY 12: XI’AN
We are off this morning to visit Qin Shi Huangdi’s
Tomb. You’ll see many of the thousands of life-size
terra cotta warriors and their horses found in the
diggings of the region. It is almost unbelievable.

Bell Tower and the Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight you
will have a delicious dinner before attending a Tang
Dynasty opera. (B,L,D)

our flight to Shanghai. we’ll then travel to
Suzhou.Suzhou has long been the center of the
Chinese silk industry, we will learn about the
creation of the “Silk Road” and visit an embroidery
factory as well as other attractions. The Sheraton
Hotel where we are staying would be worth the trip.
It is the latest landmark in this city and is
nestled amongst its own lagoon, canals and
ornamental gardens. (B,L,D)
DAY 14: SUZHOU - SHANGHAI
Returning to Shanghai and our hotel, we’ll begin our
tour of this important city. Certainly you will
