This morning after breakfast we will have a

industrial center. The city was almost destroyed
during World War II and painstakingly reconstructed
thanks to the amazing amount of detail found in
Canalitto’s paintings of the city. On our guided
tour we will visit the emotive Ghetto Heroes
Monument and the Chopin Memorial before seeing the
‘wedding cake’ Palace of Culture and the
neoclassical Lazienki Palace. This afternoon will be

treasure is the miraculous painting of Our Lady.
Because of this painting, Jasna Góra became Poland’s
most famous sanctuary among the numerous sites to
Marian devotion throughout the country. We shall
also stop in Auschwitz at the German Concentration
Camp for a visit to the museum and view a film. Then
it’s on to Kracow where the rest of our day will be
at leisure. (B)

For centuries the seat of Polish kings, and more
recently the hometown of Pope John Paul II. Kracow
is listed by the United Nations as one of the
world’s most historic sites. Our guided tour takes
us through the Old Town to visit the medieval Cloth
Hall and the 14th century Mariacki Church. Then we
ascend Wawel Hill, with its castle and legendary
dragon, to visit the Cathedral, burial place of
Polish heroes concluding our tour in the splendid
courtyard of Jagiellonian University. Tonight we

restaurant. (B,D)

heading to our home for the next 2 nights, Budapest.
(B,D)
DAY 7: BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
Today well tour of these two old world capitals,
Buda & Pest, which were united in 1873 to create
Budapest, the current capital of Hungary. The city
is divided by the Danube River, and is linked by
many wonderful bridges. Our tour today will include
such sites as Fisherman’s Bastion & St. Matthias
Church. See the view from Citadell Hill and then see
Parliament building and Hero’s Square. This
afternoon will be at leisure, then authentic
Hungarian cuisine, while listening to traditional
gypsy music at a local restaurant tonight. (B,D)
