Itinerary: |

DAY 1 & 2: USA - DENMARK
Once on board our jetliner, we will enjoy our
in-flight services. Upon arrival in Copenhagen, our
Tour Manager, a native Scandinavian, who will take
us to our hotel, will meet us. (Inflight meals)
DAY 3: COPENHAGEN
This morning’s sightseeing tour will introduce us to
many attractions in this great city. Our local,
English-speaking Danish guide will show us
Christiansborg Palace, Radhus (City Hall), and the
harbor district. We will see the changing of the
guard at the Amalienborg Palace, and the official
winter residence of the Danish kings and queens. Of
course, our tour will include a visit to the city’s
most famous resident — the Little Mermaid, sitting
on her rock beside the harbor. This evening, enjoy a
welcome dinner with your fellow passengers. (B,D)
DAY 4: COPENHAGEN - CRUISE
During our free time this morning, go shopping,
visit Kronborg Castle or take a hydrofoil to Malmo.
Later this afternoon, we will travel to the pier to
board the steamer for our overnight cruise to Oslo.
Our cabins offer full facilities. The ship sails in
the narrow passage of Oresund with Sweden and
Denmark on either side of the ship. Enjoy dinner
aboard the ship. (B,D)
DAY 5: OSLO - STALHEIM
We arrive in Oslo this morning where we meet our
coach for our trip to Stalheim. Travel into the
spectacular Norwegian countryside with its charming
villages, beautiful waterfalls, jagged mountains and
deep fjords. We will board a train for the thrilling
ride on the world famous Flam Railway. During the
train ride we will descend 3,000 feet within 12
miles, passing thundering waterfalls and towering
mountain cliffs to the village of Flam. After
enjoying quaint Flam, we will re-board our coach and
continue to Stalheim with dinner tonight at our
hotel. (B,D)
DAY 6: STALHEIM
Our day is at leisure for relaxing, shopping or an
optional excursion to Bergen, Norway, a picturesque
harbor city and birthplace of Norwegian composer,
Edvard Greig. Dinner tonight is at our hotel. (B,D)
DAY 7: STALHEIM - LILLEHAMMER
After breakfast we’ll drive to Gudvangen where we
board our local ferry for a spectacular two-hour
ride on the famous Sognefjord. The fjord’s sides are
sheer rock cliffs that tower 2,000 feet, decorated
with hundreds of plunging waterfalls and tantalizing
cascades. We’ll disembark in Laerdal and continue on
to the Borgund Stave Church. The Stave churches were
built in the middle ages, and only 24 of the
original 600 have survived. Later in the afternoon
we will continue through the countryside to
Lillehammer where dinner is waiting at our hotel. (B,D)
DAY 8: LILLEHAMMER - OSLO
Visit Lillehammer this morning and later ride
through the rich countryside. Picturesque views
await us as we pass farmlands and lakes en route to
Oslo. On arrival in Oslo, we will enjoy a full tour.
Founded by Viking King Harald in 1050, it is
situated at the tip of lovely Oslo Fjord and is
encircled by wooded hills and beautiful harbor. We
will see the Vigeland sculptures at Frogner Park and
Holmenkoll Hill with its world-renowned ski jump,
Oslo’s City Hall with its Twin Towers, a cathedral
from 1649, the Parliament, Royal Palace and National
Theater. (B,D)
DAY 9: OSLO
This morning enjoy a tour of the Viking Ship Museum,
which contains a 1,000-year-old Viking ship and
archeological finds from Viking times such as
wagons, rowing boats, tools, sledges, etc. Our
afternoon is at leisure to explore or just relax.
(B)
DAY 10: OSLO - STOCKHOLM
This morning we are transferred to the train station
for our train ride to Stockholm, Sweden. We will see
many breathtaking sights as we make our way through
the Norwegian and Swedish countryside. (B,D)
DAY 11: STOCKHOLM
Our sightseeing tour this morning includes
historical highlights, landmarks and the beauty of
the city. Stockholm is known as the Venice of the
North and is built partly on an archipelago of 14
islands. Visit the magnificent City Hall’s Golden
Chamber with over 18 million gold mosaic stones. See
the cobblestoned Old Town Section, filled with
antique shops and a Bohemian spirit. See Riddarhom
Church where the Swedish kings are buried. The
afternoon is free to explore the city. Take in the
17th century warship Vasa, housed in a museum
specially constructed for it. This magnificently
restored ship sunk to the bottom of Stockholm harbor
as it was being launched before thousands of
onlookers. The museum will give you an insight into
Scandinavian seafaring life. Tonight we have a
Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
DAY 12: STOCKHOLM - USA
Say goodbye to Scandinavia this morning as we
transfer to the airport for our flight home with
warm memories of new places and friends. (B,Inflight
